I created a similar scene for the 59th Weekly Drill by TheRookies but felt there was much to improve (find the before and after below).
I kept the composition largely unchanged, but I made some props alterations to make it less cluttered. I also made adjustments to the lighting and atmosphere.
Additionally, I added a short sequence with a slight camera shake to add more realism.
The books, coins, and wood texture are from Quixel Megascans.
The two travelers are stranded on a planet once inhabited by mankind. However, they soon discover that the people have Long Gone.
I created this project for the “World of Real-time Discoveries” contest by TheRookies and Experience Points in 2021. This was my second project created using the Unreal Engine, and at that time, I was still in the early stages of learning the engine.
I created this project for the 3rd Weekly Drill by TheRookies. The theme was “Museum Artifact” and I decided to recreate the cipher disk from Uncharted 3.
In 2020, I completed one of my first UE4 projects which involved modular set pieces. Maya was used to model the architectural structures. Material-wise, I used megascans, with some additional elements like ivy and props. The trees in the background were sourced from NatureManufacture's "Environment Set", and some props are from Scans Factory's "Abandoned Factory Buildings".
About a year later, I enhanced the lighting, added atmospheric fog, and particles using my improved knowledge of lighting in Unreal Engine.
I participated in the Substance Texturing Challenge - Kombi by TheRookies in 2021 and submitted this as my entry.
The model of the “Bulli” was provided and the challenge was to texture it using any of the Substance apps.
This contest was an excellent opportunity for me to improve my texturing skills and create photorealistic textures within Substance Painter. It was an enjoyable experience exploring various methods of creating realistic dirt and rust buildup.
