HeartStamp is seeking artists to design and animate characters and motion sequences that evolve from 2D prototypes into interactive 3D experiences.
HeartStamp, a pre-series A capitalized startup, is looking for a 2D/3D Character Animation & Motion Graphics Artist who can blend animation, motion design, and interactive graphics into web-based experiences.
In this role, you will design and animate characters and motion sequences that grow from 2D prototypes into interactive 3D experiences. You’ll also create motion graphics-driven micro-interactions, playful reveals, and hidden Easter Eggs across the landing page and platform – making sure the overall experience feels polished, engaging, and alive.
Responsibilities
- Design, rig, and animate 2D and 3D characters (Blender, Spine, After Effects, or similar).
- Create motion graphics sequences (transitions, reveals, effects) for the platform and landing page.
- Design 2D interactions and create animation concepts that can translate into real-time 3D behaviors.
- Design physics-inspired systems (bounce, collisions, elasticity) that feel playful and responsive.
- Design Easter eggs, hidden moments, and fun micro-interactions across the platform.
- Optimize assets, animations, and pipelines for smooth performance across browsers and devices.
- Collaborate with product/design to define the style, personality, and polish of interactive animations.
Requirements
- Strong background in motion graphics and 2D animation (After Effects, Spine, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, rigging, and animation (Blender, Maya, etc.).
- Understanding of physics-based interactions in interactive graphics.
- Proven ability to design delightful Easter eggs, motion-driven micro-interactions, and playful animations.
- Ability to design animations and visual cues that simulate interactivity (e.g. bounce, stretch, reactive effects). Actual haptic feedback and input handling will be implemented by our developers.
- Ability to optimize motion graphics and 3D animation for cross-browser and multi-device experiences.
Nice to Have
- Shader programming, lighting, and material expertise.
- Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal) and web workflows.
- Background in interactive storytelling or character-driven design.
