3D Artist Showcased a Great DVD Shader Set Up in Blender

Once complete, the shader will be available for download.

Have a look at this incredibly realistic DVD shader created by 3D Artist and Animator, known only as SUPRA3D, using Blender, a free and open-source 3D modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX software.

Complete with realistic-looking scratches and smudges, the shader is currently WIP, with the author noting that it still requires some polishing. According to SUPRA3D, the goal was to make a true-to-life shader, and while it is "still not 100% physically accurate, that just comes down to the limitations of Blender". Once the shader is fully complete, the creator plans to make it available for download via Gumroad.
