90s Anime-Style 3D Animation in C4D & Arnold

This incredible animation with Ghost in the Shell vibes was made by Hirokazu Yokohara.

3D Artist and Generalist Hirokazu Yokohara, whose highly realistic UE5-powered smoke simulation was featured just recently here on 80 Level, impresses us for a second week in a row with a new mind-blowing digital artwork.

This time, the creator demonstrated an incredible 2D-looking 3D animation inspired by 90s anime aesthetics and art style familiar to many thanks to such classics as Serial Experiments Lain, Perfect Blue, or Ghost in the Shell. According to the artist, the animation was made using After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Arnold to test out composite and grading.

Previously, the artist also demonstrated a stunning real-time fur simulation made in UE5, a cool deepfake face made with Maya and DeepFace Live, a beautiful real-time red and blue fire and smoke FX, and a neat smoke FX made in UE5 and Niagara, showed how to simulate clothes in Blender with mocap datahow to set up a realistic face with Maya and Ziva Face Trainer, and how to utilize Apple's RoomPlan for 3D environment modelingexperimenting with soft body simulations in Cinema 4D, and turned a 2D image into a 3D mesh with Blender.
