A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Horizon Forbidden West's Level Design

Blake Rebouche shared some WIP level designs and compared them with the shipped game.

A couple of days ago, to celebrate the final day of this year's Blocktober, Principal Quest Designer at Guerrilla Games Blake Rebouche shared a small collection of videos that provided a behind-the-scenes look at Horizon Forbidden West's level design. The examples shared by Blake demonstrated how environments made for Seeds of the Past, the game's main quest, looked during the blockout stage vs. how they looked in the shipped game. You can view the videos by checking out the author's original Twitter post.

Funny how too much game-design and academic gameplay ruins a world.
I mean, this is the uncanny valley of world designs, they focused on game-design so much that the result is "A world made for only YOU and you are surely an idiot"
