A Behind-The-Scenes Look at the Effects in Hades

Check out how the dev team created stylized effects for Hades.

Hades by Supergiant Games features a number of Olympians, each granting awesome-looking effects to the main hero. You get Zeus' thunder, Poseidon's waves, Artemis' arrows, and more. The development team was kind enough to share a closer look at how their visual FX and UI artist Josh Barnett created the effects for the game.

Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler that has recently left the early access stage. The game manages to mix the best aspects of Supergiant's critically acclaimed titles: the fast-paced action of Bastion, the depth of Transistor, and the character-driven storytelling of Pyre.

You can learn more about the game and buy it on Steam. There's also a Nintendo Switch version available.
