Prince of Persia has become a best-selling video game franchise and a Disney movie, but originally it was an Apple II computer game created and programmed by Jordan Mechner. The developer prepared a book about the creative, technical, and personal struggles that brought the prince to life.

The edition features a unique look at Mechner's journals he kept from 1985 to 1993. It includes 300 pages of Jordan’s original journals, archival visuals illustrating the stages of the game’s creation, work-in-progress sketches, rotoscoped animation, screenshots, interface design, memos, and many other materials.
