A Look at 3D Painting in Procreate 5.2 Beta on iPad

In case you missed the news, Procreate will soon get tools for 3D artists. 

Procreate will soon get an update that will introduce a new dimension within the painting app. The new version will let users paint on 3D models using Procreate’s brush engine and image effects. The team also promises new accessibility features, plus full optimization for the new M1 chip.

The app will also get AR support letting users see textured 3D works in the real world with augmented reality, plus more. Some users have already started testing the new tools and sharing thoughts on the update via Twitter. To get started with a 3D model, you can import a USDZ or OBJ file that has a UV map ready for painting. Then you can apply details and even work with different maps.
