A Survival Game Where You Play As Tom Hanks From Cast Away

It might be safe to say that not many of us would favor a chance to be dropped on a lonely island in a vast ocean after a plane crash, experience the harsh environment, and struggle to survive, just like what happened to Chuck Noland, portrayed by Tom Hanks, in Cast Away. Despite a desperate experience, the movie brought us the unique charm of wild survival and living alone.

We have been taken away from our wild nature thanks to technology; gradually, we also get used to being interrupted by social connections. That’s why Project Castaway, an upcoming first-person open-world survival game, sounds so attractive — the game is all about focusing on yourself as you try to survive on an isolated island in the Pacific Ocean. 

Things to do are diverse, including hunting for food to avoid starving, gathering wood to set up fire to scare off monsters and cook, and building yourself sanity in order to not sleep on bare ground and freeze during cold nights. You can even set sail to explore nearby islands that are laden with various resources to gather.

Lucky enough, the surroundings are wild but beautiful. The landscape boasts tropical beaches, a clear sky, rich plantations, and crystal-blue ocean water where you can dive. 

Survival is the top priority in such circumstances, followed by the management of sleep and mental health being a castaway who is at risk of losing their mind. Sleep well so the “unnatural apparitions” won’t take your life.
