A Useful Script for Exporting Hair from XGen to Unreal Engine

The script can export the grooms in Alembic format and assign all the necessary attributes.

Check out XGen to Unreal, a useful script for exporting custom-made MetaHuman grooms from Maya XGen to Unreal Engine, developed by Virtual People Stylist Maria Zatorska in collaboration with Maya Technical Director/3D Generalist Roman Zhuk.

As stated by the developers, the script is capable of automating the exporting of hair created with XGen to Unreal Engine 5 and Unreal Engine 4 in Alembic format and assigning all the necessary attributes, marginally accelerating the usual workflow. The tool works with Maya versions 2022 and 2023 and is available for purchase via Maria's ArtStation page.
