Add Touch-Responsive Frost Effects To Your 3D Scenes

Takuma Hashimoto has made the project open-source.

For those of us enduring peak summer heat in August, Takuma Hashimoto has delivered a cool web project, generously made available for free so you can explore and experiment with it as you please.

This React Three Fiber project introduces immersive ice and frost visual effects by wrapping your content in the Frozen component. It transforms any 3D scene into a winter wonderland, complete with dynamic frost buildup and interactive, touch-responsive audio feedback.

The effect is fully customizable, with parameters that let you adjust its intensity and spread patterns, apply different ice crystal textures and normal maps, fine-tune the sensitivity of its interactive response, and control the level of visual blur and distortion.

It even supports the camera, as seen in this demo, which you can play with in your browser by clicking this link:

Check out the code here and don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on InstagramTwitterLinkedInTelegramTikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
