Adobe Released Substance 3D Modeler 1.7

Better upscaling, progress bars for booleans, and more.

Adobe has launched Substance 3D Modeler 1.7, the latest version of its multisurface 3D sculpting tool, introducing several changes and fixing some bugs.

The most prominent difference is a new upscaling algorithm, which better avoids artifacts when increasing resolution, which leads to a smoother surface without help from the smooth tool. You should now get a more accurate result with no visual interruptions.

Other than that, Adobe has added progress bars for boolean operations, updated dialog boxes for unsaved changes to have clearer text and color-coded buttons, and included a frame-limiting option to the project stats window so you can reduce CPU and GPU usage. Moreover, the removal tools produce more reliable results for interior colors after the update.

You can buy Substance 3D Modeler for $149.99 or get it via Substance 3D Collection subscriptions for $49.99/month or $549.88/year.
