AI Text Generator GPT-3 Is Both Scary and Awesome
Here's the next big thing.
Artificial intelligence research division OpenAI Inc. made the latest version of GPT-3 available in private beta, and this thing might change everything.
For those of you unfamiliar with the project, it is a general-purpose language algorithm that uses machine learning to translate text, answer questions, prepare memos, predictively write text, and more. The algorithm can analyze a sequence of words or text, and then use these examples to generate original output, an article or an image.
The new model is extremely powerful and kind of scary as it can create a new article using a single sentence. The OpenAI team has recently provided access to several people via an API.
Founders Fund Principal Delian Asparouhov, for example, shared an investment memo generated and posted on his company website. Asparouhov then trained GPT-3 using half of an essay on running effective board meetings, and the model generated additional paragraphs of text that are almost indistinguishable from the original text.

What do you think about the model? Who will lose jobs when this thing goes public?
