AMD to Launch RDNA 3 in November

RDNA 3 should deliver over 50 percent better performance per watt than RDNA 2.

Senior Vice President and General Manager at AMD Scott Herkelman has announced that RDNA 3 will be launched on November 3. The architecture is marketed as the first AMD graphics architecture to leverage the 5nm process and AMD's chiplet packaging technology. AMD expects RDNA 3 to deliver over 50 percent better performance per watt than RDNA 2.

"AMD RDNA 3 refines the AMD RDNA 2 adaptive power management technology to set workload-specific operating points, ensuring each component of the GPU uses only the power it requires for optimal performance. The new architecture also introduces a new generation of AMD Infinity Cache, projected to offer even higher-density, lower-power caches to reduce the power needs of graphics memory."

The announcement was made just before NVIDIA's presentation of the RTX 40-series.

There isn't a lot of information about RDNA 3 yet, so stay tuned, check out AMD's performance per watt numbers here, and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
