The software allows to automatically isolate people from video footage using deep learning models.
Vanishing Point, a developer of virtual production solutions, has released Antimatter, a new automatic human matting application for visual effects and virtual production use.
The new tool helps to automatically isolate people from video footage. It takes a video file or image sequence as input and outputs a resulting video file or image sequence of the matte frames in a variety of standard file formats including JPEG, PNG, EXR, MOV, MP4, and AVI.
According to developers, the software "can be set up in seconds and matte frames can be saved in near real-time, as either image sequences or video files." The tool has a streamlined interface offering a choice of two preset quality modes for the matting operation as well as a simple slider control that allows adjusting the mask outline to remove noise.
Antimatter is currently available only for Windows. It requires 7GB drive space and a recent NVIDIA GTX or RTX series GPU. The software is available via purchasing a perpetual license which costs £595 plus value-added tax. You can learn more about Antimatter here.
