Apple has recently acquired AI Music – a startup that generates personalized soundtracks using artificial intelligence. According to Bloomberg's sources, the purchase of the UK-based company was completed in recent weeks.
The British company has developed the so-called "Infinite Music Engine" that allows users to generate audio tracks depending on their activity. Music can dynamically adjust to what is happening on the screen or adapt to physical indicators (for instance, to the user's heartbeat). AI Music's LinkedIn page says that the company's goal is to “give consumers the power to choose the music they want, seamlessly edited to fit their needs, or create dynamic solutions that adapt to fit their audiences.”
It is believed that the technology could be applied not only in Apple Music but also in the entire Apple One ecosystem which includes Fitness+, Apple TV+, and Arcade. Apple refrained from commenting on the acquisition, so the financial details of the deal are unknown as well as the company's plans on integrating AI Music's technologies into Apple products.
