And its premier trailer is coming soon.
The latest game of the Assassin's Creed franchise, previously known as Assassin's Creed Red, is now officially titled Assassin's Creed Shadows, announced by the developer Ubisoft in a tweet. This new addition to the popular open-world series, set in Japan, will release its premiere trailer on May 15.
Ubisoft initially revealed in September 2022 that multiple new Assassin's Creed games were in production. Among these was the codenamed Assassin's Creed Red, a Feudal Japan-based open-world RPG. Ubisoft Québec, known for their work on Assassin's Creed Odyssey, is leading the game's development. The team has been collaborating with Japanese consultants and Ubisoft's Japanese studio to ensure cultural authenticity and avoid "cultural tourism" criticisms.
