Babylon's Fall Is Shutting Down in February 2023

PlatinumGames will terminate the game's service on February 27, 2023 and remove it from sale in both digital and retail stores in the near future.

Released in March 2022, Square Enix and PlatinumGames' online action RPG Babylon's Fall had a pretty bad launch on PC showing one of the worst performances for a game focused on multiplayer. Its daily peak was decreasing with each month, and in May, the game's player count on PC even dropped to zero at one point.

At the time, however, PlatinumGames said that they would continue working on the game and creating new content, including bringing new locations and weapons as well as making additional changes to the visual style of the game which was criticized by players.

However, recently PlatinumGames announced that the service of Babylon's Fall will be terminated in the near future.

The developers of the title revealed the news on the game's official website saying that the game will be shutting down on February 27, 2023. They also added that sales of the digital version and the physical version on retailer websites will be stopped following this announcement.

The second season of the game, according to the developers, will run as scheduled, until November 29, 2022, and the third and final season will start on the same date. However, it is not clear how much content will be included in it as PlatinumGames noted that it has also canceled the large-scale updates that it had previously planned.
