Bad Robot Games Hires Anna Sweet as CEO

Anna Sweet became the new chief executive officer of Bad Robot Games.

The games-industry veteran will help the team build games in collaboration with the Bad Robot movie studio. J.J. Abrams founded Bad Robot in 2001 and the director now wants to explore the gaming market.

Bad Robot Games will be a co-development partner teaming up with external studios to design games for consoles, PCs, and smartphones. Bad Robot will contribute by building worlds and creating stories. The team will also help with creative direction, music, sound design, voice acting, and visual artists.

Abrams launched Bad Robot Games in 2018 and made long-time company executive Dave Baronoff the president of this division. “From the moment we first collaborated while Anna was at Valve, I’ve been looking for opportunities to work with her again,” Baronoff said.

Previously, Sweet worked at Valve and also acted as head of Oculus’ game content and developer strategy for some time.
