The company significantly raises the base salary for its employees in Japan to "improve workability" and "stabilize" their income.

Bandai Namco has announced its plans to improve the base salary of its Japanese staff. Developers across the company will see a significant pay rise of ¥50,000 ($435). Besides, the Japanese company increased the starting monthly salary from ¥232,000 ($2000) to ¥290,000 ($2500).

According to the press release, the decision was made in accordance with Bandai Namco's new "Connect with Fans" vision which can be carried out by fostering "active participation" with its staff. Therefore, the company intends to influence the employees' workability by "stabilizing [their] income".

The Japanese company has also introduced the Activity Based Working scheme aiming "to increase employee autonomy and creativity". With the new scheme, the staff will be able to choose the working hours along with the place where they prefer to work. The schemes will take effect starting April 2022.

The news comes shortly after Bandai Namco revealed its financial results for the nine months ending December 31, 2021. According to the report, the company's revenue increased by 15.5% compared to the same period the year earlier amounting to ¥628.3 billion ($5.4 billion).

Recently, Bandai Namco also shared its plans to create a $130 million "IP Metaverse" that would build connections with fans and help the company to expand its business outside of Japan.
