To celebrate the N7 Day, BioWare has officially announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which features the original three Mass Effect games in a remastered collection. The collection will come with improved visuals, textures, plus single-player DLC and content. The edition will be available next year on PC and consoles.
The team's goal is to greatly improve and tweak the original titles to let new and returning players enjoy the classic RPG trilogy in the "best possible form." The remastered edition will feature new shaders, improved character models and textures, higher resolutions, and improved framerates. Please note that Mass Effect 3's multiplayer mode won't be available in the Legendary Edition.
The trilogy will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC, plus Xbox Series X and PS5 with "targeted enhancements."
BioWare has also teased the future of the Mass Effect franchise saying that a new Mass Effect game is in the works. "Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe," Casey Hudson, VP at BioWare. "We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next."
