A while ago, Blizzcon producer Saralyn Smith shared a note regarding the Blizzcon convention in 2020 and the pandemic saying that it was still too early to know if Blizzard will postpone or cancel it this year.
Yesterday, she posted an update where she stated that the upcoming convention is canceled since such mass in-person gatherings include a high-level risk for the health and safety of all participants and attendees.
However, Blizzard is now looking for other ways to connect with the community in a digital format. Noting that this is a completely new format for the company, the digital event will take place at the beginning of the next year.
