According to US Securities and Exchange Commission filings cited by Axios, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick will receive $15 million as compensation if he is fired without cause after Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard deal closes.
The report also reveals that the CEO could receive as much as $22 million in stock in July or later this year if Activision’s board notes significant improvement in the company's workplace culture. Measured criteria would include the implementation of a zero-tolerance harassment plan and recruiting more women and non-binary people.
As reported by Axios, the board might also extend Kotick’s contract "by 12 months beyond its current March 2023 expiration". The update seems quite controversial as, previously, it was reported that Kotick would leave Activision shortly after the deal is closed.
The documents also highlighted the fact that, apart from Microsoft, four other companies and one individual were interested in purchasing Activision Blizzard.
