Bungie and Sony Have a "Number of Unannounced Projects" in the Works

Bungie is working on "a number of unannounced projects" with Sony, according to Bungie creative lead Tom Farnsworth.

Bungie is currently working on several unannounced projects with its parent company Sony, the studio's creative lead
Tom Farnsworth revealed.

On Wednesday, Farnsworth took to Twitter to share how work at the studio has changed in the 11 years he's working there. According to him, over the course of more than 25 Destiny releases the company shipped during that period, Bungie "completely changed" the way it develops its games and does business, "moving from strictly boxed products to live service games."

Additionally, he said that the studio is now "working on a number of unannounced projects" with the support of Sony.

Apart from Bungie's ongoing work on Destiny 2, it is known that the studio is developing at least one new IP that is planned to be released before 2025 – the project that the company revealed back in February 2021.

In January last year, the news that Sony was acquiring Bungie for $3.6 billion appeared. At the time, Sony said that Bungie would retain creative freedom and the ability to publish games for different platforms.

The deal was closed in July 2022 and prior to this, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida shared that the acquisition of the studio would represent a "major step forward in becoming more multiplatform" for the company as well as would help Sony improve its live service game capabilities.

During the Sony investor presentation held in May 2022, the company also revealed its ambition to expand into PC and mobile as well as live service games – the company expects to release 12 live-service titles by the end of FY 2025.
