Many believe the unannounced title to be Monster Hunter 6.
Following Capcom's most recent first-quarter earnings report, the studio apparently revealed that they are working on a new unannounced game. They seem confident that this upcoming release will undoubtedly become a bestseller by March of the following year.
According to Bloomberg journalist Takashi Mochizuki, Capcom is allegedly preparing an announcement for this highly anticipated game, projected to sell millions of copies by March 2024. Although the specific franchise or whether it's a completely new intellectual property remains unclear, speculations among fans point towards Monster Hunter 6, a potential sequel to the successful 2018 title, Monster Hunter: World.
The earnings report itself highlighted some of Capcom's Q1 achievements. It disclosed that the company's net sales grew by an impressive 74% compared to the previous year, while its operating income nearly doubled.
Notably, the report also revealed that the newly released Street Fighter 6 has already sold over 2 million units, and the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake has reached an impressive 5 million units in cumulative sales.
Moreover, the report included sales numbers for their biggest IPs:
- Resident Evil series: 146 million units sold
- Monster Hunter series: 94 million units
- Street Fighter series: 52 million units
- Mega Man series: 40 million units
- Dragon’s Dogma series: 7.7 million units
