Check Out An Upcoming Turn-Based RPG With Real-Time Mechanics

Pre-order Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with a timed special offer.

Sandfall Interactive

Sandfall Interactive's debut title, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, is an upcoming turn-based RPG with real-time mechanics. It was developed using Unreal Engine and showcased at this year's Xbox Developer Direct 2025

The game is set in a gorgeous fantasy world inspired by Belle Époque France, yet has an intense story. Every year, the Paintress wakes and paints a cursed number on her monolith. Whoever reaches that age turns to smoke and vanishes. Years have passed by, and more people have disappeared. Tomorrow, she will paint "33." You and other mates, Gustave, Maelle, and their fellow Expeditioners, are Expedition 33, which is set on a final mission: to destroy the Paintress so that she can never paint death again.

One of the key features is the real-time actions that will enhance the core of turn-based combats. "Craft unique builds for your Expeditioners that fit your playstyle via gear, stats, skills, and character synergies. Open an active dimension in combat - dodge, parry, and counter in real time, chain combos by mastering attack rhythms, and target enemy weak points using a free aim system," reads the game's description.

As its April release is approaching, it's good timing for us to learn more about this game, including its gameplay, graphics, locations, characters and their skills, and more.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be released on April 24 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Pre-orders are available now with a special 10% discount that is time-limited.
