You can also grab 3D Generalist Rei's new stylized grass asset, complete with a wind animation.
A while ago, we showcased a stunning hand-drawn grass created by 3D Generalist Rei, the talented creator behind many Blender assets, who added some variations by painting multiple textures onto a single image and randomizing the UVs for each instance.
The artist has now shared the results of applying the same method to a cloud, creating a beautiful stylized asset with brushstroke textures. They mentioned that the workflow here was quite similar to how they make trees: starting with a base mesh, scattering spheres across it, distributing planes (texture cards), and then transferring the UVs from the mesh to the cards.
By the way, the original grass asset is now available for free download, so you can use it in your own projects. It features a subtle idle wind animation driven by UVs, clean shadows, several customization options, controls for a stronger wind, animated highlights in the wind, and works with similar textures.
