The new version overhauls Painter’s watercolor system and improves brush performance.
Corel has shipped Painter 2022, a new version of their professional digital art software for PC and Mac, and compatible with Photoshop. Corel's Painter allows its users to create and develop their signature style in illustration, fine art, photo art, and concept art.
The new version overhauls Painter’s watercolor system. New Watercolor compatible brushes and workflow optimize the painting experience. You can now paint with dry media types on Watercolor layers to achieve new and exciting mixed-media looks.
The brush library has also been upgraded. New categories, variants, and brush previews were added to Painter 2022, plus, you can now easily Find, Filter, and Favorite your favorite in the Brush Selector.
Painter 2022 also includes a number of user-requested changes, including a new grayscale preview option in the Navigator panel, making it easier to check the tonal values of an image. Changes to layer workflow include a ‘spotlight layer’ option that shows the layer selected in isolation, making it easier to work with complex documents, and new Color Burn and Color Dodge blending modes.
