A couple of years ago, Crytek revealed Cinebox or Film Engine, an animated movie creator for game developers working with Cryengine and for TV and movie producers that need a visualization engine for their products. Due to some limitations, Film Engine was just a concept, but that’s about to change. It is stated that Crytek is about to release this tool as standalone product.

Film Engine could only be used by those who had Cryengine, while presenting no use for others. It is said that Crytek has plans on unveiling working standalone verison of Film Engine during FMX 2016 on April 28th.
It is being developed for both Hollywood and game development industry. It enables content creators to generate from animated and photo-realistic ‘machinimas’ to Virtual Reality Experience, ranging from motion pictures to video games.
The Film Engine will team up with new AMD’s Radeon Pro Duo, so it can exploit all the power of AMD’s dual GPU rendering engine.
