Hossein Diba has brought one more movie character to life.
Hossein Diba, a renowned Freelance 3D Character Artist known to many for recreating various characters from movies, video games, and cartoons, has wowed us once again with a new highly-detailed portrait.
This time, the artist tackled none other than Felonious Gru, the main protagonist of Illumination's Despicable Me film series, reimagining the iconic character in a more realistic way while keeping Gru's most recognizable facial features from the cartoons.
Interestingly enough, many people pointed out in the comments that Hossein's lifelike depiction of the character reminds them of Steve Carell, an Actor and Comedian who portrayed Michael Scott in The Office and, most notably, voiced Gru in Illumination's animated films. Whether or not the portrait was inspired by Steve's likeness remains a mystery.
Earlier, Hossein also presented realistic versions of Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, GTA VI's protagonists Jason and Lucia, Anthony Hopkins, Max Payne, Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption, Tommy Vercetti, Woody from Toy Story, Carl Fredricksen from Pixar's 2009 cartoon Up, Norman Reedus as The Walking Dead's Daryl and many others.
