The E3 is pitching a plan for a digital event this year.
E3 organizer The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is now developing a plan to run a digital event this summer, VGC reports. The team now needs the support of major game companies.
The event has been the Super Bowl of the games industry for many years, but the coronavirus pandemic changed plans and a physical E3 in 2020 was canceled. Then, the ESA promised they will bring a "reimagined" E3 in June 2021.
VGC reports that E3 2021 pitch documents sent to games publishers describe plans for three days of live-streamed coverage on June 15-17. The team plans to run multiple two-hour keynote sessions from games partners, an awards show, a June 14 preview night, and a number of other smaller streams.
They also want to offer partner companies to remotely stream playable game demos to the media across "thousands" of scheduled meetings, featuring one-to-one assistance from developers.
