Double Eleven Has Given Its Employees a £2,500 Pay Rise

The British game publisher and developer increased its employees' salaries to help them cope with living increases caused by inflation.

Double Eleven, the British video game developer and publisher that is known as a support studio that helped develop LittleBigPlanet, Fallout 76, and other games, has raised its workers' salaries by £2,500 to help them offset costs of living increases caused by inflation.

The news was announced by IWGB, the trade union that represents game developers. This is an especially significant move for the company as currently, a number of workers across various industries are striking to raise their wages in order to cope with the consequences of economic decline.

In response to the news, several Double Eleven developers expressed their gratitude for the company's move.

"My employer just announced a BLANKET £2.5k pay rise, on top of previous uplifts/annual raises, for every single employee in order to offset the cost of living increases", senior game designer Natalie Wicks wrote. "Constantly dumbfounded how Double Eleven manage to be so cool to our workforce."

Associate quality assurance lead Steph McStea agreed: "Immensely proud to work for a company that so genuinely cares. Hopefully more will follow suit."

Double Eleven is a Middlesbrough-based video game company founded by former Rockstar Games developers, Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar, in June 2009. It currently has about 300 employees. The developer has contributed to a number of titles including LittleBigPlanet for PS Vita, Goat Simulator for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and Rust for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
