DualSense: PS5 Controller Revealed
Sony has finally shared the first look at DualSense, the new PS5 controller coming with the PlayStation 5 later this year.
The DualSense will bring a bunch of new features to let players enjoy the next-generation of PlayStation. First, you have already noticed that there's a new two-tone design. The light bars can now be seen on both sides of the controller's touchpad to give it "a slightly larger look and feel."
Also, Sony noted that the angle of the hand triggers and the grip have been changed to find room for new features, including new adaptive triggers. The new controller will feature haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for a "variety of powerful sensations." As for adaptive triggers, they will let you "feel the tension of your actions, like when drawing a bow to shoot an arrow."
What is more, the new controller will finally have a USB-C port for its power cable and a built-in mic to chat with friends without having to plug in a headset.
"DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5," said Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Jim Ryan. "The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future. To the PlayStation community, I truly want to thank you for sharing this exciting journey with us as we head toward PS5’s launch in Holiday 2020. We look forward to sharing more information about PS5, including the console design, in the coming months."
