EA Acquires Super Mega Baseball's Developer
Metalhead Software joins the expanding sports portfolio of EA.
Electronic Arts has acquired a Canadian developer studio Metalhead Software, a studio known for its Super Mega Baseball series. Even though the terms of the deal were not disclosed, we can say for sure that Metalhead and all their projects are now under the ownership of EA.
The Metalhead team will continue working on their successful series from Canada, however, now they will work with other EA Sports teams to "develop new gaming and sports experiences for players worldwide".
For anyone following Electronic Arts, the news of this acquisition is not surprising. Recently, the publisher is known for its strengthening of the presence in sports-related games branching into motorsports with the acquisition of Codemasters, and announcing the return of both College Football and PGA Tour games.
