Something exciting is cooking at Respawn.

During the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson expressed how happy he was with Respawn's work on Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi. He even called EA buying the studio in 2017 "one of the most incredible acquisitions" in the industry.
"We haven’t done that many acquisitions, we’ve done a few," Wilson said (via VGC). "Respawn of course was maybe one of the most incredible acquisitions ever done in the industry."
He proceeded to praise the developers and the value they bring to EA, its shareholders, and players.
More interestingly though, Wilson revealed there are some "things going on at Respawn that [EA is] very excited about." He didn't elaborate but said that he's looking forward to whatever this is "given the quality of that group."

What could the excitement be about? I have several ideas. Back in May, Respawn's head Vince Zampella shared that a "small team" at the studio is working on a new project, not Titanfall 3 but "something new."
At the same time, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor game director Stig Asmussen has said before that he wants to make Cal Kestis's story a trilogy, so it could be a new game in this universe.
