The team shared a look at a new experiment with brain-machine interfaces.
Neuralink, Elon Musk’s company dedicated to developing brain-machine interfaces, shared a new video on YouTube showing a monkey playing a game using only its mind.
Pager, a 9-year-old macaque monkey, has a Neuralink which was implanted six weeks before the experiment. The monkey was taught to play video games using a joystick for a banana reward, delivered using a metal straw. During the experiment, the Neuralink device capture information about neurons used. Then, the joystick Pager used was disconnected from the computer, but the monkey continued playing the game using only his mind.
