EmberGen Developer Ships a New Terrain Generation Software

JangaFX's long-awaited GeoGen has finally been released in Alpha.

JangaFX, a development studio behind the real-time fluid simulation tool EmberGen, has finally launched GeoGen, a brand-new generation tool for creating 3D landscapes, terrains, and planets in real-time, first announced a year ago in early December.

Available in Alpha, GeoGen offers a wide range of sourcing nodes, modifiers, filters, and masks that allow for precise control over terrain details, the placement of features, and the overall formation of landscapes. Described previously as "Substance 3D Designer, but for terrain", the software comes with a smooth and user-friendly UI, streamlining the process of generating your virtual worlds.

Moreover, the software is equipped with a robust toolkit for crafting 3D planets, featuring complete support for atmospheric rendering, twinkling stars in the background, and a range of powerful nodes at your disposal. Lastly, GeoGen allows for quick and easy import/export of various game-ready data types and textures.

"GeoGen is a fresh take on what terrain and planet generation can be, and with all of the incredible competition out there, we know that we have to take it to the next level," commented JangaFX. "With modern node-based workflows, unique simulations, and workflow enhancements built with games in mind, GeoGen will be a powerful tool in your arsenal. GeoGen is still in alpha, and we have major plans to innovate far beyond what's available on the market."
