EVR Studio's Project TH Now Utilizes Motion Matching

The method was implemented to achieve natural in-game motion.

Korean game developer EVR Studio has recently shared a brand-new demo for Project TH, the studio's upcoming game set to contain the storylines and vibes that depict Korean culture to its fullest. According to the new demo, Project TH now utilizes Motion Matching, a character animation method presented by Ubisoft several years ago, to "improve the emotional nuance in animation." The team commented that the goal of the implementation was to achieve natural in-game motion suited to each of the game's three characters.

"As modern-day animation systems get increasingly complex, the cost of maintaining the numerous segmented states rises, making Quality Control amongst collaborators difficult," said the developer. "EVR Studio implemented Motion Matching on top of Unreal Engine with our own set of Dance cards to achieve natural motion in various situations."
