Ex-Bethesda's Dev's Heavy Metal Horror Game Has a Demo

The Axis Unseen will be released this month.

Nate Purkeypile, the former Lead Artist at Bethesda, who worked on Skyrim, Fallout 3/4/76, Starfield, Metroid Prime 3, and BloodRayne 2, has been developing his own game The Axis Unseen, which was announced in 2021 and now has a demo.

In the horror heavy metal game, you hunt nightmarish monsters from ancient folklore, collect their enhanced sense powers, and discover elemental arrows. The game features a beautiful open world that you can explore, uncovering its mysteries and delving into its terrifying atmosphere. "Beware, the hunter is also the hunted," reads the game's description.

The game's UI is implemented in its visuals: tattoos on your hand show your health and active powers, you have to check your quiver to see how many arrows you have, and your bow shows how much energy you have collected.

The Axis Unseen has an original soundtrack composed by Clifford Meyer, known for being a part of post-metal bands ISIS and Red Sparowes. The music reflects what happens in the game, varying from atmospheric to intense heavy metal.

In June, The Axis Unseed received a new trailer:

In our interview, Nate Purkeypile shared how he came up with the idea of the game and how his experience working on Bethesda's titles influenced its development.

The release date is scheduled for October 22. Try the demo and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
