Ex-developers from Electronic Arts announced they have formed a new studio called Arctic7. The devs shared that, currently, the studio has a number of projects planned for this year and one of the new titles is already in development.

The co-founders of the new Texas-based studio, Igor Efremov, Mark Rizzo, and Alan Van Slyke, announced they intend to "look beyond the perceived confinements of traditional games development, and include explorations of creative and technical intersections".

Each of the founders has had considerable experience in video game development. Igor Efremov started his two-decade-long career in the industry at EA later taking the position of the chief commercial officer at Keywords Studios. Meanwhile, Mark Rizzo had worked in Sperasoft, Sony, and EA and served as global operations director of Keywords Studios. Having over 20 years of experience in the game industry, Alan Van Slyke has held senior positions in various studios including Epic Games, EA, and Microsoft Studio.

“Arctic7 gives us the platform to use our combined years of game development to create the most compelling new worlds, new adventures and new experiences for our partners and their players. The opportunities are endless and we’re thrilled to be working with some of the best talent in the industry,” shared Van Slyke.
