Another veteran has left Bethesda. Yesterday, we reported that the company's veteran Head of Publishing Pete Hines decided to retire after 24 years to take more time to enjoy life. Today, we learned that another valuable member of the team decided to find a new team.
Will Shen, a quest designer behind Fallout and Starfield, announced he's joining a new project. The designer, who started way back with Fallout 3, has joined the all-remote Something Wicked Games as the lead content designer of Wyrdsong.

Shen joined forces with former Bethesda project lead Jeff Gardiner, the founder of Something Wicked Games. Previously, the studio also hired other industry veterans including Obsidian Entertainment's Robert Land and Akil Hooper, plus former BioWare Austin narrative designer Jessica Sliwinski.
The new role will be focused on building a bridge between the company's narrative and design teams.
"It can be very easy....when you have a particular area of responsibility, you want to focus on just that part of a game," Shen said in a recent interview. "But I think one of the things that makes triple-A role-playing games really come together is when it feels like the game has some kind of a singular direction."
