Fallout New Vegas 2 Might be in Talks at Microsoft

After 12 years, a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas is reportedly being discussed.

The fans of Fallout: New Vegas have been waiting for the sequel to their beloved game for almost 12 years. Initially, there wasn't much hope regarding the game's continuation, considering the relationship between Obsidian and Bethesda. However, after Microsoft acquired Obsidian in 2018 and ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, in 2021, many believed that the follow-up would be just a matter of time. And, if the new report is to be believed, they might have been right all along.

According to VentureBeat's Journalist Jeff Grubb, who spoke on his Giantbomb show Grubbsnax, New Vegas' developer Obsidian Entertainment is reportedly discussing the potential sequel with Microsoft, now that they and Bethesda are in the same family. Grubb adds that there are a lot of people at Microsoft who think that Fallout: New Vegas 2 could work and there's a lot of interest to make it happen.

"This is very early, but people have begun to have talks and say these words in sentences, and those words are Obsidian and ‘New Vegas 2," said Jeff Grubb. "We’re talking years and years away. There’s at least an interest and conversations happening about making something like that actually a reality."
