Development for the game's PC port will happen as soon as the PlayStation 5 version is released.
Final Fantasy XVI is one of the most anticipated games to be released in June. However, the long-awaited JRPG will be launched exclusively on the PlayStation 5. That might be changed soon as game producer Naoki Yoshida has revealed that the development for the Final Fantasy XVI PC port will happen as soon as the PlayStation 5 version is released.
In an interview with ASCII, Yoshida said that the company plans to work carefully on it after the release of the console version of the game. Yoshida has also mentioned that Final Fantasy XVI will have a six-month exclusivity period.
It is worth noting that it does not mean that Final Fantasy XVI will be instantly released on PC as soon as the exclusivity period ends. It took two years for the developers to move Final Fantasy XV from consoles to PC. Final Fantasy XVI will be the latest entry in the long-running Final Fantasy JRPG series. Like Final Fantasy XV, it will be closer to an action RPG than the traditional turn-based combat.
Final Fantasy XVI will launch exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on June 22. You can learn more about the gameplay here.
