First-Person Platformer Imagines Mirror's Edge in Backrooms

The game's demo is now available on Steam.

If you are impressed by Mirror's Edge and would like to have a similar experience but in a different setting, you probably would not want to miss Lorn's Lure, which bears similarities in terms of gameplay mechanics and the free-running elements.

Lorn's Lure is a narrative first-person platformer with unique climbing mechanics and updated retro 3D graphics developed by indie game developer Rubeki. It follows the story of an android tracking a glitch, leading him to a vast, dangerous structure unknown to his people.

The announcement trailer of the game was released in October 2020:

The game features a dark, foreboding atmosphere, 90s-style graphics, and lore to uncover as you delve deeper. You'll surely enjoy the ability to climb almost any vertical wall.

The game is tough but fair, without lengthy penalties for mistakes. You can enjoy the game at your own pace, either taking in the sights or playing it as a speed run.

After 2 years of waiting, in 2022, Lorn's Lure: Prologue, which is essentially a standalone demo or a preview of "Lorn's Lure", was released. It gave a taste of the game's mechanics, atmosphere, and story without revealing too much. The overwhelmingly positive review it received created a sense of anticipation for the full game release.

Lorn's Lure transports you back to the 90's, taking you into vast industrial backrooms. As you navigate this retro-industrial world, you'll uncover hidden secrets, and be faced with challenges that blend nostalgia with innovation.

If you want to give it a shot, play the demo on Steam. You can also follow the developer on Twitter. And don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
