First Trailer for DC's Animated Adaptation of Watchmen Unveiled

"Danger is on the horizon."

Warner Bros. Entertainment has unveiled a trailer for its two-part animated movie adaptation, Watchmen Chapters 1 and 2. The brief 40-second video provides sneak peeks into the split narrative, showing characters like Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach, and Nite Owl.

Watchmen, originally a 12-issue limited series published by DC Comics in 1986-87, was created by writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons, and colorist John Higgins. The plot centers on ex-vigilantes investigating an internal murder, uncovering a plot with the potential to drastically change history.

Back in 2009, director Zack Snyder brought the graphic novel to life in a live-action movie adaptation, which expanded the fanbase and introduced the world of Watchmen to a wider audience. A decade later in 2019, the Watchmen universe was further extended with a sequel series.

According to Games Radar, "The official Blu-ray website has Part One set for an August 13, 2024 release date." While details are currently sparse, it's probable that the movie will be available for streaming on Max.
