Former Ubisoft Massive Head David Polfeldt Joins PlayerUnknown Productions

PlayerUnknown Productions announced it has hired Polfeldt as a senior advisor to help the studio head Brendan Greene create a "successful studio culture."

David Polfeldt, the former head of Ubisoft Massive, who, following a six-month sabbatical, entirely left the company in March, now joined PlayerUnknown Productions.

Polfeldt had worked at Ubisoft Massive (formerly Massive Entertainment) for 17 years serving as managing director for 12 years – during his tenure there he contributed to a number of its leading titles including the delayed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and an open-world game set in the Star Wars universe.

Polfeldt joins PlayerUnknown as a senior advisor with the studio head Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene saying that he "would be a great fit to come and advise [him] on creating a successful studio culture with a great working environment."

"I'm delighted to join the team at PlayerUnknown Productions, where I will help guide Brendan's hand in creating an authentic studio and a successful brand," Polfeldt said in a statement.

PlayerUnknown Productions is a new studio formed last year by Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene who is known as one of the key developers behind the Battle Royale genre. The studio focuses on research and development and aims to explore "how new technologies can enable large-scale digital experiences."
