Don't miss a session on procedural Substance 3D techniques in Battlefield 2042 at GDC.
Game Developers Conference 2022 is coming our way returning as a physical event this year. It will be held from March 21 to March 25 in San Francisco offering various sessions and roundtables that will be available to attend in person and/or via virtual platforms and live streams.
Those who will attend this year's GDC in person will get a chance to watch a session on procedural Substance 3D techniques in Battlefield 2042. It will take place on Tuesday, March 22 with the Senior UI Artist at EA DICE Clay Shanks and the Senior Technical Artist at EA DICE Priyabrata Biswal leading the session.
During the session, the artists will demonstrate how the team set up a procedural workflow while working on Battlefield 2042 revealing how they managed to create a substantial number of unique collection badges that could keep up with the constantly evolving weaponry, vehicles, and gadgets on the battlefield.
The session can be helpful for both experienced Substance 3D users as well as for beginners as Shanks and Biswal will share how to use procedural tools including Substance 3D Designer showing the attendees the way to create vast assets collections that would allow for quick iteration along with a high level of visual fidelity and distinction.
Battlefield 2042: Procedural Badge Creation with Substance 3D Designer session will also be recorded for GDC Vault and will be available to watch after the conference.
