Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski has shared his ideas for the cast of the upcoming Netflix adaptation, saying he would like to see David Bautista as the protagonist Marcus Fenix and "a Latino actor for Dom, dammit". Bautista himself has expressed his desire to play the character several times before. Karl Urban would also be a great candidate for Fenix, in Bleszinski's opinion.
Bleszinski mentioned Ryan Reynolds would make a perfect Damon Baird, but Chris Pratt should be kept away from the Gears franchise.
On November 7, Netflix announced that Gears of War will be adapted into a live-action feature film and an adult animated series, "with the potential for more stories to follow". The official cast is not revealed yet.
