Genshin Impact Creators Received Recognition from China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism

The company was honored by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism for Genshin Impact’s contribution to the development of the country.

MiHoYo's hit action RPG Genshin Impact has received an award from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The Chinese authority revealed the news on its official website honoring the game's contribution to the development of the country.

As reported by the Chinese outlet GameLook, on September 29, the Ministry published its annual list of "Practice Cases of Digital Innovation in Culture and Tourism" where it awarded Genshin Impact creator for its achievements in "game-based cultural dissemination and exploration of the tourism promotion model."

The authority didn't specify for which particular merits the developer received recognition from the Ministry, however, it seems that the award was received for honoring Chinese culture and history in Genshin Impact as the images of characters and locations are reminiscent of the cultural heritage of the country, as GameLook suggests.

The developers of Genshin Impact previously said that they were inspired by Chinese nature when creating some locations. For instance, the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park became the main inspiration for the Liyue region.

As GameLook reports, 138 different cases related to AI, big data, VR, cloud computing, and other technologies participated in the selection this year. MiHoYo was the only gaming company that entered this year's list.
