The host of the show revealed that the opening ceremony will feature 30-40 games, although most of the news will concern already released or announced titles rather than completely new games.
Summer Game Fest 2022 is just a little over a week away, and in the run-up to the big gaming event, game journalist and presenter Geoff Keighley who will host the show answered questions about the upcoming event's opening ceremony during his recent Twitch stream.
Keighley revealed that this year's show will have significantly more videos with pure gameplay, and in total there will be about 30-40 games at the opening ceremony. However, the host said he cannot yet name the exact number of games at the presentation as their number may change any time.
He also shared that the updates the organizers will provide will mostly concern already released or announced titles, although viewers will also see announcements of completely new games.
Keighley said that he had seen various alleged leaks about the games that will be presented at the show, although he noted that all of them were far from reality as many of the titles mentioned in those "leaks" are still too early to show.
The opening ceremony will run for about two hours and will be "fully live" but not the broadcast recording. The show will also feature a number of guests joining Geoff Keighley at the studio.
Also, on his Twitter account, Keighley has shared the participants of the event. This year's line-up will include over 30 companies with more to be announced in the near future. The full list of partners can be found here.
Summer Game Fest 2022 will take place from June 9 to June 12, and will start with a Kickoff Live show where the attendees should expect an array of announcements and updates.
